On Saturday 26th JuneAscot comes to Bishopswood.

Included in the ticket price of just £10pp is Champagne, Pimms and canapés on arrival at 4pm, followed by races and a buffet throughout the rest of the evening.  With a prize for the best dressed ‘filly’ it’s the opportunity to get dressed up - as formal race attire is the ‘order of the day’.   For more details or to reserve your tickets please call Heather or Monica on 01594 860303.  This event is being organised as part of the committees fundraising efforts to buy a commercial dishwasher for the newly fitted kitchen.

Join us on Sunday 4th July for Breakfast in Bishopswood, as usual, hosted by All Saints Church in aid of the Organ Restoration Fund.  Make your choice from cereal, bacon, eggs, sausages, hash browns etc and finish with tea or coffee and toast all for just £5.00 per person.  There will be a short service after for those who wish to stay.

Come along and enjoy a Cream and Strawberry Tea served up by Bishopswood W.I  on Tuesday 6th July.  Sit in the sun; enjoy the company of your neighbours and maybe make some new friends.  Just £5 pp.

Our very popular Tea Dance returns on Sunday 11th July from 2.30pm – 5.30pm.  Malcolm Wilce will again be providing the music, and the admission of just £4.00 includes tea and cakes, with free refills.  Open to all members of the community, this is the ideal opportunity to brush off your dancing shoes and get to know your neighbours.

Bishopswood Bridge Club meets at 7.30pm every Tuesday.  All are welcome (any standard from beginner to advanced, either as a pair or if you are on your own we will find you a partner) to join us for an informal evening, in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.  Tea and biscuits provided.  For more details please phone Roger on 07896 090919.

The Village Hall is run by a small group of volunteers.  Anyone who wishes to help would be very welcome - from putting up tables to helping in the kitchen, or baking the occasional batch of cakes.  We are always open to ideas and if there is a function or activity you would like to see at the Village Hall we would gladly investigate the possibilities.  Go to the contacts page and get in touch.
